SPECIAL NOTICE (March 18, 2020): Out of an abundance of caution, the City of Agoura Hills, has canceled the Regular City Council Meetings of Wednesday, March 25, 2020 and Wednesday, April 8, 2020, to determine how best to conduct the people’s business while minimizing the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The City is following the Order of the Health Officer of the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health, issued March 16, 2020, of canceling indoor public gatherings within a confined space, where there is a potential for at least 50 people expected to be in attendance at the same time. The next meeting of the City Council is expected to occur on April 22, 2020. For the health and safety of all, the City Council, staff, and the public will be participating in the meeting remotely (via telephone or computer). The City is currently finalizing the procedures for participating remotely and further instructions will be posted when the regular agenda is posted. The health of the public and our employees is of utmost importance and we are taking all precautions possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19. City operations remain as usual, with some exceptions, and the City's facilities (City Hall, Community Room, and the Recreation and Event Center) will be closed to the public until further notice.

With today’s busy lifestyles, it is not always convenient to personally attend a City meeting or to watch a meeting at a specific time on television. Webstreaming provides an easy and convenient way for the public to gain access to City meetings at their leisure. The City uses San Francisco-based Granicus, Inc., the premier provider of local government webcasting and public meeting management solutions to over 350 government agencies spanning 35 states across the nation. Streaming audio and video technology is one of the most reliable, convenient, and comprehensive communication platforms available to government today. Agoura Hills is one of the many California municipalities adopting this tool, which is critical for expanding public engagement and public access in the 21st century.
The City’s solution includes streaming software to capture, manage, store, and distribute online video recordings. This solution enables City staff to cross-link City Council and Planning Commission official agendas, minutes, documents, and any other critical public record content directly to the streaming video. With this document linking capability, and the “jump to” feature, the public can access the information they want, when they want it, and move to a specific point within the meeting, without having to fast-forward or rewind through the video. Additionally, the video page includes a keyword search so users can simply search an issue they are interested in watching the City Council or Planning Commission discuss. Users may choose to watch a meeting "live" during its normally scheduled date and time, or watch archived meetings at their leisure by clicking on the available meeting dates.
