City of Agoura Hills Seeks City Treasurer

(Agoura Hills, CA—FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—July 18, 2017) The City of Agoura Hills is seeking qualified candidates to apply for city treasurer. The city treasurer assists with the planning and organization of activities pertaining to the city treasury. The appointment includes reviewing and advising on investments in compliance with the city’s investment policy as well as all state and federal laws; reviewing statements and reports on the city’s financial position; reviewing the city’s banking needs and contracts; and serving on the Finance Committee.

The position is appointed by the city manager with five (5) hours of anticipated service at a monthly stipend of $300. Qualified individuals from Agoura Hills and surrounding communities are invited to apply who have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, public administration, business administration, or related field, and 10 years of experience investing in compliance with the California State Code. All qualifications for the position are listed on the city’s website.

The selected candidate will replace Candis Hong who has served as city treasurer since 2012 after retiring as assistant city manager for the City of Thousand Oaks. After serving 30-years in local government, she is now devoting herself to the duties of a grandmother. The city thanks her for her many years of public service and she will be greatly missed.
