Social Media Policy for users

The City of Agoura Hills continually makes an effort to get community members pertinent and timely information. As technology and informational sources have changed, the City also has adopted policies that allow for the usage of social media outlets. Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, etc.

Although most users of these information outlets act with good intentions and are respectful of other people's opinions and hold appropriate conversations, there are those that choose not to.  To insure that these information outlets can continue to be utilized and used as intended, the City has adopted a Social Media Policy.  Violation of these standards may result in the removal of posts from the City's social media outlets. Users should refer to item 12. in the attached document. City staff and users of the social media outlets should read and understand the policy and how it will be implemented.

Use of social media sites should also include an understanding that information posted on these sites becomes public information and there should be no expectation of privacy in regards to the information posted.
