Easy Fire (Simi Valley/Moorpark area) Not a threat to Agoura Hills
The Easy Fire that started in Simi Valley this morning is NOT a threat to Agoura Hills at this point in time. Although winds are strong, they are blowing southwest which is moving more towards Moorpark and Thousand Oaks areas near the 23 freeway.
Reports have been that sections of 23 Freeway, between 118 Freeway and Tierra Rejada are closed and motorists are asked to avoid the area. Other areas may be closed as the fire grows.
The last report had the area burned as 200 acres and growing but further updates on size are expected later as focus is on fighting the fire and protection of homes.
For Agoura Hills, there are NO fire threats at this time and there are no SCE Power Shutoffs at this point in time. Areas of Old Agoura, Liberty Canyon, and parts of Annandale are still on SCE's watch list (please see map for POSSIBLE shutoff area), which could mean power shutoffs and SCE will provide any updates. It is strongly suggested that you update your contact information with SCE at www.sce.com by clicking on the link titled "Update your contact information."
