Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Post Date:12/11/2019 8:45 AM

The City of Agoura Hills is extremely proud to announce its first publicly-accessible electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Two pedestal single port Level 2 chargers are available at the city’s Recreation and Event Center, located at 29900 Ladyface Court towards the eastern end of the parking lot.

A free chargepoint account is required is required. The charge is $1/hour or fraction there of for up to 2 hours and then $2/hr after that.

The EV charging stations were constructed with the help of $50,000 in Clean Transportation Funding from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC). The MSRC allocates funding from a $4 surcharge on vehicle license fees, specifically to be used for local projects designed to reduce air pollution from motor vehicles. Over its nearly 30-year history, the MSRC has distributed more than $400 million in funding to innovative clean air projects – like Agoura Hills’ new EV chargers - throughout Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties that have helped to remove as much as 13,000 tons of air pollution from the skies of Southern California.

“The city was able to make the MSRC’s grant go a lot farther because ChargePoint donated the chargers themselves through their FivePoint Charging Station Donation Program,” said John Treichler, Administrative Analyst with the City of Agoura Hills. The contributions from both the MSRC and ChargePoint helped save the city nearly $30,000 in installation and equipment costs.
