- The Agoura Hills' Planning Commission was established on June 13, 1986. City Ordinance No. 59.
- Each member of the Planning Commission receives a stipend of $100.00 each per meeting not to exceed a total compensation of $200.00 in any one month. In the event that the City Council specifically authorizes the Planning Commission to hold one or more meetings, in addition to its regularly scheduled meetings, each member of the Planning Commission shall receive $100.00 for each such additional meeting attended provided that the total compensation received by a Planning Commissioner in any one month does not exceed $200.00.

First and third Thursdays of each calendar month, 6:30 p.m., City Hall. All meetings are open to the public and agenda and minutes of the meetings are available for review.
The Planning Commission consists of five volunteer members who are residents of the City of Agoura Hills. They are appointed by the Mayor and ratified by the City Council for a two-year term. The Planning Commission acts in advisory capacity to the City Council on land-use matters and investigates and recommends means to implement the City’s General Plan to help ensure the orderly physical growth of the City.
The members hear and make decisions on applications for new commercial and residential developments, including Conditional Use Permits, land subdivisions, and exceptions and variances from the terms of the Zoning Ordinance. They also, hear and make recommendations to the City Council on proposed zoning ordinances and General Plan amendments.
Current Planning Commission Appointments and Term
The Planning Commissioners were appointed by the City Council on January 23, 2019. The appointments are for a two-year term ending on January 13, 2021.
