The City of Agoura Hills has adopted the latest 2016 Calfornia Codes which are based on the 2015 International Code. California Health and Safety Code, Section 17958.5 and 18941.5, require that the City of Agoura Hills adopt the most current codes and to make any modifications or changes to these codes with the express findings and to adopt and record them with the State of California Building Standards Commission. The City of Agoura Hills has completed this process and the following codes are being enforced as of January 1, 2017:

2017 LA County Fire Code (Ordinance No. 17-427)

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) (Ordinance No. 17-431)
The City Council adopted local amendments to the Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS), effective September 12, 2017. For any questions, please contact the Agoura Hills Building and Safety Division at (818) 597-7334.
The plan review time for Commercial EVCS will be less than 3 business days as long as the checklist criteria is met.

FRONT COUNTER PLAN CHECK
City of Agoura Hills, Building and Safety Department has been providing over the counter plan review services for small projects or re-checks. Example of types of projects that can be reviewed over the counter are as follows:
- Solar PV Systems
- Small Residential Remodel
- Minor Tenant Improvements
- Patio Covers
- 2nd and 3rd plan checks of already reviewed projects
- Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (if all regulations and checklists are followed)
We are pleased to announce that starting November 1, 2019, we are extending the “over the counter” plan review services to two (2) days a week.
