NOTICE INVITING SEALED BIDS
FOR
AGOURA ROAD WIDENING – PHASE I
CANWOOD STREET IMPROVEMENTS
NIB 13-01

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Agoura Hills as AGENCY, invites sealed bids for the above-stated project and will receive such bids in the offices of the City Clerk, 30001 Ladyface Court, Agoura Hills, California 91301, up to the hour of 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at which time they will be publicly opened. Copies of the Plans, Specifications, and contract documents are available from the City of Agoura Hills, 30001 Ladyface Court, Agoura Hills, California, upon payment of a $20 non-refundable fee if picked up, or payment of a $25 non-refundable fee if mailed.

This project comprises of cold milling of existing pavement; Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR); application of tack coat; placement of asphalt concrete base course and asphalt rubber hot mix (ARHM) surface course; full depth AC pavement removal and construction of a new full-depth pavement section in localized areas; construction of piles; removal and replacement of concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk; adjustment of manholes and valves to grade; reconstruction of catch basins; coordination with SCE for adjustment of street light; and all appurtenant work on Canwood Street between Reyes Adobe Road and approximately 245 feet East of Strawberry Hill Drive in the City of Agoura Hills.

Any contract entered into pursuant to this notice will incorporate the provisions of the State Labor Code. Compliance with the prevailing rates of wages and apprenticeship employment standards established by the State Director of Industrial Relations will be required. Copies of the prevailing wage rates are on file and are available for inspection in the offices of the City Clerk. Affirmative action to ensure against discrimination in employment practices on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, or religion will also be required. The AGENCY hereby affirmatively ensures that all business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this notice and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, or religion in any consideration leading to the award of contract.

Bids must be prepared on the approved Proposal forms in conformance with the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS and submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked on the outside “SEALED BID FOR AGOURA ROAD WIDENING – PHASE I CANWOOD STREET IMPROVEMENTS; NIB 13-01 – DO NOT OPEN WITH REGULAR MAIL.” The bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check, or bidder's bond made payable to the AGENCY or cash deposit for an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount bid, as required by California law.

All bidders shall be licensed in accordance with provisions of the Business and Professions Code and shall possess a State Contractor's License, Class "A” at the time a contract for this work is awarded. The AGENCY reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity, and to take all bids under advisement for a period of forty-five (45) days.
