Plan review ensure plans meet all Federal, State and Local code requirements. This service saves the builder from costly mistakes that could be encountered during construction and lends the additional expertise of a construction professional to review the project.
City of Agoura Hills have contracted with one of the well known and most qualified plan review consultants in the area, California Code Check which provides approximately 95% of City’s plan review services.
Our staff and our consultants pride themselves in providing a thorough plan review of the construction plans that are submitted for review. Our plan review time is quick. Whether the review is conducted by our staff or through our consultant, the turnaround time is only 10 business days from the date of submittal.
All plans submitted to the Building and Safety Department after January 1, 2008, will be reviewed under the following Codes:

PLAN REVIEW REQUIREMENTS
Following are the plan submittal requirements to the Building and Safety Department:
Two complete sets of the plans for the work being conducted must be submitted to the Building and Safety Department. Depending on the scope of the project, these plans can include:
• Site Plan
• Floor Plan
• Elevation Plan
• Foundation Plan
• Framing Plan
• Structural Plans
• Roof Plan
• Mechanical Plans
• Electrical Plans
• Plumbing Plans
• Detail Sheets
• Cross Sections
• Single-line Diagram
• Accessibility Plan
• Structural Calculations
• Title 24 Energy Documents, and other plans as necessary for a thorough plan review to be conducted.
PLAN EXPIRATION
Subsection 105.3.2 of Section 8103 "Time limitation of applicaton" of Agoura Hills Municipal Code states that, “An application for a permit for any proposed work shall be deemed to have been abandoned 180 days after the date of filing, unless a permit has been issued. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Building Official may, in his or her sole discretion, grant up to four (4) extensions of time for additional periods, not exceeding ninety (90) days each, if requested in writing by the Permittee and prior to the end of the expiration of the permit application. The request for the extension shall demonstrate the cause for the delay. In order to resume work after a permit application has expired, the Permittee shall reapply, resubmit plans, meet all the applicable codes enforced at the time of submittal and pay a new plan check fee."
